Our Experience
When we arrived in Ubud, our first stop was Ayung River for an exhilarating river rafting experience.
Ayung River, Bali’s longest river, offered perfect conditions for rafting during our October visit.
With our activity pre-booked three months in advance via www.govoyagin.com, we enjoyed reasonable rates and excellent service.

A week before our adventure, the company contacted us to confirm our itinerary, providing peace of mind.
The package included convenient pick-up and drop-off services, as well as a delicious lunch. Enjoying a hearty meal before rafting fueled us with energy for the activity.
Upon arrival at the destination, our guide and two companions joined us for the adventure. They provided safety jackets and boat paddles, ensuring our safety throughout the thrilling experience.

We took another cab to the starting point, walking through rice fields and forests before reaching the river bank. There, the guide briefed us on basic rules and safety instructions for rafting.

Luckily, we secured seats in the front row, which added an extra thrill to our adventure. As the raft picked up speed, our excitement soared. Initially, the water flow was gentle, but it intensified as we approached the slopes.
If it’s your first time and you love adventures and an adrenaline rush, you should prefer the front row.

The highlight of rafting is the sensation of soaring through the air during descents, accompanied by the rush of wild water.
Surrounded by lush forests, towering hills, and melodious birdcalls, the experience felt surreal—everything seemed so surreal, a dreamlike paradise.
With Akhil’s attentive care, we enjoyed our first adventure together immensely. Midway, we paused for refreshing coconut water before resuming our journey. Our guide’s humor kept the atmosphere lively and fun throughout the excursion.

Amidst the journey, we encountered several small waterfalls cascading from the surrounding mountains. Our raft halted near one, allowing us to enjoy the invigorating splash of Ayung river’s icy waters. Though appearing deep, it merely reached waist level.

It was a one-hour journey in the middle of a white river and the forest which covers the area and we truly had the best time on our first day to Bali.
FAQs
Do you need to know how to swim for river rafting?
The answer is No
On commercial rafting trips, all participants are required to wear a Coast Guard-approved ‘life vest’ for safety purposes. These vests are specifically designed to aid in keeping individuals afloat in case they find themselves in the river.
Even non-swimmers frequently join rafting trips and have an enjoyable experience. Before the trip begins, your guides will provide a comprehensive safety talk, detailing what to expect and what to do in the event of falling out of the raft.
Your guide is extensively trained in white-water rescue techniques and will collaborate with the rest of the team to ensure that participants feel comfortable navigating the white-water conditions during the trip.
It is strongly recommended that individuals who are non-swimmers inform their guide about their swimming ability before the trip commences. This proactive approach ensures that appropriate precautions can be taken to ensure everyone’s safety throughout the adventure.
